WHAT DOES A MYSTERY SHOPPER DO?
In the mystery shopper research method, a hired individual goes to a predefined restaurant and acts as an ordinary customer without revealing their real intention: to evaluate the service and products.
ARE THE DATA COLLECTED BY SPIES AVAILABLE ONLINE?
No, the data is confidential and shared exclusively with the establishment.
DO STAFF KNOW THEY’RE BEING EVALUATED?
No, everything is done discreetly, without the service staff knowing it’s part of a study. Therefore, discretion during the espionage is crucial.
WHAT DOES A MYSTERY SHOPPER EVALUATE?
Generally, the main points checked include service quality, product quality, ambiance, and infrastructure.
HOW DO I BECOME A SPY?
Creating an account is free. Simply access the MySpy app and complete your details. Fill in all the required fields correctly for the system to make the perfect match for you.
DO I NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION?
Not necessarily, but if you are going to make a reservation, do it normally in your own name. Never as
a spy nor on behalf of MYSPY, to maintain confidentiality! Note that restaurants
operate within their own hours, so it’s worth checking the restaurant’s website before going. Also,
be aware that our system gives you 3 days to complete the mission after accepting it.
Do not miss the deadline, or the mission will automatically be assigned to another spy.
HOW DOES THE MEAL WORK?
Have a meal just like a regular customer, ordering whatever you want to eat and drink. The only difference is that at the end of your meal, you’ll fill out the app’s report and receive a voucher for the pre-agreed amount
DOES THE RESTAURANT COVER THE ENTIRE BILL?
No, the discount amount is based on the restaurant’s average ticket price, usually covering a meal, a drink, and either an appetizer or dessert. Any consumption exceeding the voucher amount must be paid for by you.
HOW DO I RECEIVE THE VOUCHER?
Once the app matches you with a restaurant, it will show the voucher value for consumption. After checking in at the restaurant, access the survey to input your notes and ratings about your experience. Once completed, you’ll receive a voucher to hand over to the manager to deduct the value from your bill. Simple as that.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T GO TO THE RESTAURANT?
When you accept a mission, you have 72 hours to complete it at the defined restaurant. If the deadline expires, the system will automatically assign the mission to another spy.
HOW IS THE REPORT FILLED OUT?
It’s all very simple and takes just a few minutes. You’ll provide ratings from 1 to 5 and have space to add any comments you feel are relevant for the restaurant’s improvement. You’ll be evaluating the venue's infrastructure, ambiance, service, and overall dining experience.

You’ll receive an email and a push notification on your mobile device.

WHAT VOUCHER VALUE SHOULD I SET?
The voucher value should align with your restaurant's average ticket. Calculate the average cost of a meal with a drink and either an appetizer or dessert. Bear in mind that setting a very low value might result in the spy not having the full experience or even refusing to visit your restaurant. Value the spy—they are there to help improve your establishment.

If they know a client is assessing their service, they may excessively cater to the customer for a favorable review—this is not the purpose of MYSPY. However, management must be aware that some customers will redeem vouchers for the pre-agreed value.
